J by Jenn is an independent journalism platform by Jennifer Machin, combining blog-style storytelling with in-depth cultural and lifestyle analysis. Though J by Jenn is first and foremost a passion project and a way for Jenn to report on topics important to her, she also hopes to inspire, inform, entertain, and empower her readers through her interests and personal experiences. After all, Jenn believes purpose, self-expression, and connection make up the fundamentals of her life, especially as a writer, and this publication is a visual embodiment of that. Jennifer Machin, aka Jenn, is a writer, journalist, editor, and cultural critic from Northern New Jersey, born to Cuban and Colombian immigrant parents. She has bylines in Footwear News, LATINA, Hypebeast’s Hypebae, Life & Style, Billboard, Mashable, Seventeen, and more.

Jenn has 10+ years of experience in digital media with a special interest in pop culture and feature writing; she’s had the honor of interviewing some of her favorite artists, such as Bad Bunny, Becky G, Charli XCX, Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams, and many others.
